Eugenia Sarila
Swim Coach/Instructor
I began my swimming career at the age of eight at Smith Park Pool in San Gabriel, CA for their city club team. I swam competitively until age 16 for the city team. I then switched to swimming for my high school; where I was varsity captain my junior and senior year. During the summer months from age 10 to 14, I volunteered as an instructor’s assistant for the City of San Gabriel Aquatics Program at Smith Park Pool. I would assistant and aide instructors with their lessons and help promote water safety to the students. About two years, I was a swim coach for intermediate level club swimmers at the Whittier YMCA. Three years ago, I became a swim instructor and lifeguard at the Smith Park Pool year round. Recently, I expanded to teaching for a couple of private swim schools in LA County.
I specialize in teaching stroke refinements and endurance. I have taught ages 2-adults, beginning levels as well as advanced levels. With the experience I have gathered teaching and coaching over the years, I hope to continue my career in providing quality swim lessons to children. Most importantly, I hope to continue promoting water safety to all those I teach.
